The sky drips ink black, choking coal stain
Off in the distance, he arrives to great fanfare,
Oblivious to the stench, and the fear, and the stares.

So he gathered up his characters, sycophants, and specters
We all set out to canvas the countryside
It didn’t seem to matter that only the moon had seen it,
On his sources we would rely
Then out of the shadows, a howling emerged; the damage had taken its toll.
Blood ran in buckets, and death roamed freely, and we all said in unison-
“Let’s Roll”

His forked tongue slithered and his crooked finger pointed, and we waited to see how much more absurd…
